Conor McGregor and Dustin Poirier Go Back And Forth On Twitter
Dustin Poirier called for a rematch with Conor McGregor after losing to Khabib Nurmagomedov at UFC 242. Conor has fired back, and the two are going back and forth.
Conor McGregor has been flirting with a UFC return for a while now, but has not settled on any opponent. Dustin Poirier was looking to fill that spot, after his UFC 242 title loss. In his opinion, that fight makes sense because the two are coming off losses to the same opponent. Additionally, it is a rematch from their featherweight bout from 2014, where McGregor was victorious.
Initially, McGregor shot down the idea of this rematch, citing the fact that he beat Poirier fairly quickly. However, following that, he posted a picture to Twitter, in order to poke at Poirier. The picture was a shot from their first meeting, of McGregor landing one of the finishing blows of the fight.

Nevertheless, Dustin Poirier was quick to respond to McGregor. Obviously he is very interested in this fight. So despite the outcome of the first fight, he urged McGregor to take the fight anyway.
Run it back tough guy!

“run it back tough guy!”
This is a very interesting matchup to make for the return of Conor McGregor. The two have both grown immensely since their first fight. Therefore, it would be exciting to see how far this growth has taken them. The idea of this fight is similar to that of Dustin Poirier’s bout with Max Holloway, another rematch from an early fight.
