Conor McGregor has made a donation to a couple who suffered “life-changing” injuries in Ballyfermot.

Mick and Michelle Cardiff suffered injuries as they were walking home on March 5. There was a collision involving two cars, one of which lost control and struck Mick and Michelle. One of Mick’s legs had to be amputated. He, along with Michelle, has undergone multiple surgeries.

There is a GoFundMe page to cover the couple’s medical expenses and the goal has been surpassed. A big reason why the goal was met is Conor McGregor.

Looking at the donation list, there is a whopping €20,000 donation from the “Notorious” one.

Here is a statement on the GoFundMe page on the challenges that Mick and Michelle are set to face.

“On Saturday 5th of March, Mick and Michelle Cardiff were involved in a tragic accident. At the corner of Drumfinn Road and Drumfinn Avenue, two cars collided, causing one to lose control and mount the path where Mick and Michelle were walking home. This awful accident has had a huge impact on a lot of people in the community, especially Mick and Michelle who have experienced life-changing injuries and undergone numerous surgeries. Unfortunately, Mick’s leg was too badly injured that it had to be amputated. Both will have a long road to recovery, but thankfully they do get the chance to recover.

“Mick and Michelle are very well known in the community of Ballyfermot for the selfless work they do. Between volunteering, fundraising, donating, and working in the community it’s clear that they are both dedicated and passionate about helping other people and it’s time for the community to give back.

“In the coming months when Mick and Michelle return home, they will need a lot of help, care, and structural changes to their home. One thing they should not have to worry about is the financial impact of this. So if you are in a position to donate any money, please do. If not, please share this link with your family and friends.

“On behalf of the Cardiff family, I’d also like to take this opportunity to say thank you so much to every single person who has sent their best wishes and prayers. To everyone who has text, called, visited, wrote a card, lit a candle, dropped in a gift, all of your acts of kindness have not gone unnoticed and we are very very grateful. Thank you.”
This isn’t the first time McGregor has donated to someone in Ireland who was in need of assistance. Back in late 2021, McGregor donated $11,000 to a fighter who was paralyzed in a freak accident during a sparring session.

He’s also made generous donations to charities in Dublin.
