Conor McGregor Answers For Dublin Assault Charges
Conor McGregor has a charge of assault being levied against him. He appeared in court in Dublin to answer for those charges.
McGregor is facing a single charge of assault, for an incident happening in April. He was involved in an altercation with a gentleman inside of a Dublin pub. Allegedly the two were arguing over McGregor trying to offer him a shot of his Proper 12 whiskey. It was at this point, where McGregor hit the man with a left hand.
On Friday, October 10th, McGregor made an appearance in the Dublin District Court to answer for those charges. However, his legal team has requested that the hearing be adjourned until November 1st. As a result, it would appear that Conor McGregor is looking to either plea or fight the charges. MMAFighting was able to capture video of McGregor appearing at court, and leaving.
If convicted of the charges, McGregor could be facing up to six months in prison, and/or a €1,500 fine. It is uncertain whether or not he will be able to even fight the charges. Especially considering video footage was released of the incident.
However, this is not the first of McGregor’s legal problems. Earlier this year he was involved in an incident where he smashed a fan’s cell phone. The victim looked to sue and press charges, but McGregor settled the case.
There is no news as to when Conor McGregor will be returning to fight in the UFC. Although it is very possible that this case could delay his return further, Nevertheless, we will have to wait until November 1st to see what happens.
