Conor McGregor has confirmed that his highly anticipated fight with Logan Paul is not happening. During his recent appearance at BKFC Knucklemania 5, McGregor shed light on why the matchup fell apart and explained why influencer boxing still intrigues him.

Logan Paul Fight Plans Shut Down

McGregor revealed that the fight with Logan Paul made perfect sense from a business perspective but was blocked by UFC officials.

“The UFC just aren’t into it,” McGregor said to The Schmo. “The offer was there, on the table, in writing. Both athletes under the TKO banner, UFC, WWE, both rising up. The stock price of TKO holding group through the roof. New market in India opened up and booming. It was business savvy and business sense to make the fight happen—or should I say, the glorified spar happen.”

The fight’s timing was ideal, as McGregor has been sidelined from the Octagon since 2021.

“In between this wait, this waiting period that we find ourselves in before I can get back to the Octagon, it made perfect, perfect sense on the calendar to go ahead with it. The UFC weren’t into it. I’m not sure the WWE, what their interest in it was. I just knew the UFC went into it, and Logan just kept quiet. He didn’t say nothing. I said, ‘Mate, you need to say something. You need to open your f*****g mouth.”

Why Logan Paul Was the First Choice

While Jake Paul is also a big name in the influencer boxing world, McGregor explained why Logan Paul was always the top option.

“Yeah, it was always Logan—two TKO fighters,” he said. “The Ambani family, and the advisors for them, they’re shrewd. They understood—I am a UFC fighter, he is a WWE superstar. To get one without the other, it would be difficult, so yeah, it was always Logan, for sure.”

Big Money Behind Influencer Boxing

McGregor admitted that influencer boxing has caught his attention, thanks to the staggering money involved.

“I am more inclined now for this influencer boxing, or whatever you call it, because it’s astronomical money,” he said. “Astronomical, the figures. So who was there? There’s Jake, Logan, and f*****g KSI. I like the three of these guys, and then all of the other ones that are tussling around. It’s an interesting little side pocket branch, we call it. Stuff it down me sock and out I go.”

Though the Logan Paul fight is off the table, McGregor’s comments suggest he is keeping an open mind about other opportunities in the influencer boxing scene. His focus may still be on his UFC return, but his willingness to explore these crossover events shows he isn’t ignoring the financial potential outside the Octagon.

For now, fans will need to wait for McGregor’s return, but his remarks highlight the evolving world of combat sports and the lucrative possibilities ahead.
