Conor McGregor announced he’s back in the UFC’s anti-doping program. The former two-division champion posted on Instagram about giving a test, showing a plaster on his shoulder. McGregor, who hasn’t fought since 2021, plans to return in 2026. Joining the drug testing pool is a key step toward fighting again.

He also shared on Instagram Stories, writing:
“I piss excellence” with a laughing emoji and “Blood from the shoulder,” showing his excitement.
The posts came after a BKFC press conference on July 10, 2025, where McGregor faced off with Mike Perry. UFC rules require six months in the drug testing pool, making him eligible to fight by January 2026.
McGregor, a 37-year-old from Ireland, has a 22-6 MMA record, with 10-4 in the UFC. He won the featherweight title against Jose Aldo in 2015 and the lightweight title against Eddie Alvarez in 2016. His last fight was a TKO loss to Dustin Poirier at UFC 264 in July 2021, where he broke his leg.
McGregor began in Cage Warriors, winning featherweight and lightweight titles before joining the UFC in 2013 with a knockout of Marcus Brimage. His striking and bold talk led to wins over Max Holloway, Chad Mendes, and Alvarez. Injuries and legal issues, like a 2018 assault case, slowed his career.
McGregor wants to fight on the UFC’s White House card on July 4, 2026, but no deal is confirmed. BKFC’s David Feldman says McGregor has two fights left on his UFC contract. Michael Chandler is a likely opponent after their canceled UFC 303 fight. Dana White hasn’t confirmed McGregor’s return.
