So Conor McGregor beefing with Ben Askren dates back to 2014?

Conor McGregor beefing with Ben Askren

Our favorite thing about this is actually three different things. Conor McGregor talking trash to Ben Askren was always written in the stars. The MMA multiverse took a twisted path but it all eventually led to 2018 and us looking back at the first time Conor McGregor and Ben Askren bumped into each other.

First off, we love the way Mystic Mac talked trash back in 2014. To be honest it wasn’t very good compared to what he is working with in 2018. Second, look at the number of likes and retweets this exchange got. Again, compared to the level of star McGregor is now, these metrics are also laughable.

Finally the fooking, very Irish way, Mac types out ‘cheques’. Who fook is that guy?

No, but seriously McGregor’s insults and bragging about $100,000 checks are whack as hell. We are amazed how far McGregor has come.

Askren on the other hand? Four years later is he just still just playing the same hits across social media. A funnier, not racist/sexist version of whatever Colby Covington’s shtick has been for the last 18 months?

“Um, excuse the spot of annoying, corny af wrestling welterweight in the UFC is already taken good sir.” – probably Colby Covington somewhere, thinking he’s witty.

Back to current day Askren, it’s 2018 and fresh off his 2014 smack talk is once again poking at Conor McGregor. Will the most famous fighter on the planet respond to Ben Askren in 2018?

If you have to ask? Then you kind of already know the answer. Well, at least Askren and McGregor will always have this October 2014 verbal spar and we can remember much simpler times for both.

H/T to dat dude @SecretMovesMMA for the find.
