Real American Freestyle has added another high profile matchup to its upcoming event. Colby Covington is scheduled to compete against Dillon Danis at RAF 7, which takes place on March 28 at the Yuengling Center in Tampa, Florida.
The bout will serve as the co main event on the card. Both competitors bring strong backgrounds in grappling, though they reached prominence through different paths in combat sports.
Covington returns after strong RAF debut
Covington made his first appearance in Real American Freestyle earlier this year at RAF 5. In that event he competed against former UFC middleweight champion Luke Rockhold. Covington controlled the match and secured victory through a technical fall.
Before building his career in mixed martial arts, Covington was a successful amateur wrestler. He won a junior college national championship and later earned NCAA Division I All American honors during his college career.
Those wrestling skills helped him adapt quickly to the Real American Freestyle rules.

Dillon Danis will enter the promotion with a different type of combat sports background. He is widely recognized for his Brazilian jiu jitsu achievements and his presence in various combat sports events.
Danis currently holds the Misfits MMA light heavyweight championship. He has also appeared in boxing events, but RAF 7 will mark his first time competing under the Real American Freestyle rules.
The card is expected to be headlined by a rematch between Arman Tsarukyan and Georgio Poullas. Their previous meeting at RAF 6 in February ended with controversy after Tsarukyan confronted Poullas once the match had already finished.
With Covington and Danis added to the lineup, RAF 7 continues to build attention as the promotion prepares for its next event in Tampa later this month.
