Colby Covington had a pretty tough week.

First, he fought at UFC Tampa on December 14. He was up against Joaquin Buckley and the fight ended early because of a bad cut on Covington’s eyelid. The doctor had to stop the fight in the third round. This was the second loss in a row for Covington and it made his record 2-4 in his last six fights. He’s been having some hard times lately in the cage, including three title matches.

But Covington didn’t stop after his fight. He got on a plane and went to the Bahamas to play in the World Series of Poker Paradise Super Main Event. This tournament had a giant prize pool of 50 million dollars. Covington hoped his luck would change there. Unfortunately for him, things didn’t go as planned. He got knocked out of the tournament on the first day.

Covington isn’t new to poker. He’s been playing for many years and has won over 230,000 dollars in different tournaments. In 2022, he even finished in seventh place in Florida’s biggest poker tournament and won almost 50,000 dollars. So poker is something Covington knows a lot about.

But this time, luck was not on his side. The World Series of Poker even had a little fun on Twitter by making a joke about his early exit. They said, “Colby Covington gets all in against Frank Funaro on the Feature Table Live Stream – a repeat of last night?” They were poking fun at how quickly he left the tournament, just like he lost his fight earlier.

Now Covington will take some time to heal from the cut he got in the fight. He will have some free time to play more poker once he feels better. Even though this week was tough, Covington has always shown that he can come back strong. Fans will be watching to see what happens next, whether it’s in the cage or the poker table.
