As always these are rumors that have been talked about behind closed doors between MMA higher ups, so take them as MMA rumors.
Light one up on the boardwalk and reflect on your place in the universe, think about and then look deep into your Sunday Morning Rumor Mill.
- Last week the UFC looked like it was closing in on a new TV deal. This week MMA’s biggest promotion may have exceeded expectations at the bargaining table. If true the UFC’s next TV deal may split their rights with ESPN and Fox Sports, and the MMA promo may anchor the new streaming service from the Worldwide Leader in Sports.
- Huge if true, but despite not yet having his second MMA fight yet, there are rumblings of CM Punk getting the itch to return to pro wrestling. With the WWE out of the question, Punk’s return to the squared circle would likely be in the Fall spread across multiple promotions
- Rumors are again picking up steam about Tito Ortiz and Chuck Liddell looking for one more fight (payday) against each other. To the surprise of many Bellator looks to all but be out of the running with Golden Boxing debuting in MMA, Russia and maybe a certain Asian promotion all looking to bid for the trilogy fight.
- Released or bought out by the UFC, bantamweight fighter and MMA union activist Leslie Smith may already be drawing interest from Bellator. Smith would be a big addition to Bellator’s 135 and 145 women’s division
- Back in WWE for the moment, rumors say the company have talked about doing a Brock Lesnar vs. Bobby Lashley feud based on both men’s heavyweight MMA success.
