UFC bantamweight Marlon ‘Chito’ Vera would prefer to fight Aljamain Sterling over TJ Dillashaw.

Coming off an incredible win against Rob Font, ‘Chito’ Vera is looking to get closer to the title. UFC on ESPN 35 marked Vera’s first main event outing since joining the promotion in 2014. With a unanimous decision in his latest bout, Vera inches a step ahead jumping up to the fifth spot in the rankings.

‘Chito’ Vera would prefer Aljamain Sterling over TJ Dillashaw

In a recent appearance on Food Truck Diaries with Brendan Schaub, ‘Chito’ Vera revealed his personal distaste for the reigning UFC bantamweight king. Vera is the fifth-ranked contender as of now and has called for a showdown against Dominick Cruz who had previously refused to fight ‘Chito’ based on his lower rank.

“I personally don’t like Aljo so I’d like to kick his ass. I don’t like his personality, he’s a little bitchy, he’s a little diva so I just don’t like the guy.”

Vera talks origin of his dislike for Sterling

Sterling has come under intense fire from the members of the community for the way he got the UFC gold. Although he unified the titles in his second bout with Yan, ‘Funkmaster’ is still considered by his fellow athletes to not be a real fighter.

Dillashaw has spoken in the past about Sterling being an athlete rather than a fighter. When asked if the origins of his dislike for Aljo stemmed from the way he won the title or if he didn’t consider him a real fighter, Vera recalled the origins of his dislike for the 135-lbs king.

“No, this comes years ago when he fought Bryan Caraway, he started crying like a little bitch. ‘Oh, I don’t get promoted’, this and that. I was like, ‘okay bro, you want to get cameras on your face?’, they promote it. He went and lose like a little b**ch against Caraway.”

Now that Vera’s higher than Cruz, a fight could be possible. Petr Yan has emerged as the forerunner for his next opponent. However, Yan is planning to return in October whereas Vera wants to get booked before that. Unless a top-four contender takes the fight against Vera, he will likely have to wait for Yan.
