Khamzat Chimaev shared inside footage of his thoughts directly after UFC 273.
Chimaev remained undefeated with a unanimous decision victory over Gilbert Burns in their welterweight contest earlier this month. However, it was not easy as Chimaev was pushed to the limit, faced plenty of adversity and went the full three rounds for the first time in his UFC career.
As we already know, his coaches were not happy that he decided to brawl with Burns. The main reason for that was that Chimaev wanted to deliver the knockout he predicted leading up to the fight.

Khamzat Chimaev: I Feel Sorry For My Coaches
In a behind-the-scenes look released Monday by Chimaev, we get a glimpse into his weight cut, fight night and his thoughts directly after the fight.
And even after UFC 273, Chimaev was not happy that he couldn’t deliver on his words. He also notably felt sorry for his coaches for not following the game plan.
“I feel sorry for my coaches,” Chimaev said. “They work hard with me. I made many mistakes, Go back and watch my fight, like I always do. I will work hard, more energy. I need to be, everywhere, black belt — striking, ground-and-pound, wrestling, grappling, whatever, everything. I will fix everything now. One way I’m happy and one way I’m mad.
“I’m mad because I couldn’t finish the guy.”
One of Chimaev’s coaches responded soon after.
“Experience,” the coach said. “You have to beat them with being smart, with a strategy.”
It will certainly be interesting to see how Chimaev fights in his next outing after this experience.
The only question is whether it will be against Colby Covington or a welterweight title shot against Kamaru Usman, should he get past Leon Edwards.
