Chicks that can kick your ass – USA’s first Olympic gold in Judo

We hope most of you caught the amazing grappling event that took place yesterday. Twenty two year old Kayla Harrison is not only is the first woman, from the US, to win Gold in Judo, but she won USA’s first Olympic Gold in the sport EVER. Six years ago, Kayla moved to Massachusetts to continue her Judo training and learn from grappling god and four time Olympian, Jimmy Pedro. Kayla was an unexpected finalist despite her #2 ranking entering the games. Yesterday she took on Britain’s best, Gemma Gibbons, and beat her 2-0 for the gold medal in the women’s under 78-kilogram division. So what’s next for Ms. Harrison? More Judo? Maybe she could even follow in the footsteps of former Olympic Medalist Rowdy Ronda Rousey. Only time will tell.
