Every time the UFC visits Canada, we always hear about random instances of violence in the streets immediately thereafter. Average citizens assume it’s because MMA makes people violent and alcohol fuels their rage. Those people have clearly never been to a Beach Boys concert where alcohol, drugs, and public displays of nudity create a Gulf scale war-zone. The truth of the matter is that anytime there are a lot of people cramped in a small space, they fight… Conversely, people who spend too much time in isolation end up getting rushed to the ER trying to reenact the stuff they see Renan Barao do in the UFC. By the time they realize the disparity in athleticism between Renan Barao and their slightly-overweight, under-exercised bodies, the damage has already been done. Luckily, nobody will be injured in the watching of this video of him staring down Urijah Faber at the weigh-in. In fact, you could practice staring your best friends down as hard as Renan Barao, and you’ll probably both just start giggling. Not sure if I can promise you the same thing if you tune in to watch him fight tomorrow night. You’ll probably end up seeing something awesome and die trying to do it yourself.
