Chase Hooper needed one grappling exchange to reset his night at UFC Oklahoma City, submitting Mitch Ramirez before the first round reached its halfway point.
Hooper defeated Ramirez by rear-naked choke at 2:15 of Round 1 on Saturday, July 18, 2026, at Paycom Center in Oklahoma City. The lightweight bout aired on Paramount+. Hooper moved to 17-5-1, while Ramirez dropped to 8-4-0.

Hooper shot early and forced Ramirez into a scramble. Ramirez rolled through the first takedown and worked back up, but Hooper stayed attached, moved to the back, and locked a body triangle before attacking the neck.
The finish came once Hooper got the choke under the chin. Ramirez had no room to turn or peel the grip, and the tap followed at 2:15. UFC highlighted it as a fast Round 1 finish.
Hooper came in trying to stop a two-fight skid after missing the lightweight mark at 157.5 pounds, with Ramirez weighing 155.5. Once the fight hit the mat, Hooper made it about his strongest skill.
Ramirez had dropped hard matchups against stronger grapplers and wrestlers. Hooper never gave him time to build a striking rhythm, and the first sustained clinch became the deciding sequence.
UFC Oklahoma City also included Fatima Kline’s sweep of Tabatha Ricci, Alden Coria’s decision over Stewart Nicoll, and RJ Harris’ first-round TKO of Alvin Hines.
