Charles Oliveira has once again shared his wish to face former two-division UFC champion Conor McGregor, this time at one of the most historic settings ever proposed for a fight.

During media day in Brazil before his main event against Mateusz Gamrot at UFC Rio, Oliveira said he would love to be part of the UFC card planned for the White House in June 2026. He called it an opportunity that would mean a lot for both his legacy and the sport itself.

“When we talk about legacy, that’s going to be gigantic,” Oliveira said. “Why not do a big fight there? Everybody wants to fight at that event. If the UFC needs me, I’ll be ready.”

Oliveira Calls McGregor the Money Fight

When asked who he would most like to meet at such a landmark event, Oliveira laughed and gave a simple answer that many fans expected.

“Everybody knows what would be the fight there, Charles Oliveira and Conor McGregor. That’s the money fight,” he said with a grin.

McGregor has not competed for several years and is currently serving an 18-month suspension after missing multiple random drug tests. He will be cleared to fight again in March 2026. Oliveira admitted that his reason for wanting the bout is not about testing his skills, but about the business behind it.

“Financial reason,” Oliveira said honestly. “I am the most truthful one here. My story is real. Why do I want to fight Conor? Finances. How much money do you think that fight would make? A lot. For everyone.”

Oliveira made it clear that his interest in the match has nothing to do with rivalry or trash talk.

“It’s not because he beat someone or said something. He’s never said a bad thing about me,” Oliveira explained. “I’ve always spoken well about him. He made history inside the cage and defeated big names. His way of promoting fights is different from mine, but it worked for him and he has done a lot for the sport.”

The former lightweight champion added that he respects McGregor and sees the potential fight as a positive opportunity for everyone involved.

“I have nothing against him. It’s just the truth. That fight would bring a lot of money for everyone.”

While Oliveira’s attention is on his upcoming main event against Mateusz Gamrot in Rio de Janeiro, he admitted that the idea of fighting at the White House event excites him.

If the UFC proceeds with the June 14, 2026, show, it would be the first event of its kind hosted at the White House. Oliveira hopes to be part of that milestone and sees a matchup with McGregor as the perfect way to make history once again.
