Chael Sonnen will be joined by Colby Covington for the upcoming Ultimate Fighter season 33 against Team Daniel Cormier.

Chael with a big announcement

Speaking to MMA Junkie, an enthusiastic Sonnen revealed the lineup of his team for TUF 33. According to “The Bad Guy,” his group will be consisting of decorated coaches including, Clayton Hires and world-class grappler Vinny Magalhaes, among others. However, the most exciting member of Team Sonnen is evidently Covington.

“Colby Covington. Colby is going to come in,” Sonnen revealed. “Colby is such a wonderful mentor to people. This is what people don’t know about him. He does all of this on the side. He gives back, he goes to camps, he goes to college wrestling rooms, he goes to the training sessions, whatever it might be.

“He has mentored and coached many people. But Colby doesn’t want people knowing that he’s a nice guy, so I’m not going to ruin his gimmick. But he’s going to do a fantastic job,” he added.

Chael and Colby have been teaming up

Sonnen and Covington have been working together lately. In fact, the former UFC middleweight title contender cornered “Chaos” in his last fight against Joaquin Buckley.

As expected, “The Bad Guy” is thrilled to team up with Covington once again in the new season of The Ultimate Fighter. TUF 33 will debut on May 27th but as early as now, Sonnen has given fight fans something to look forward to.
