Chael Sonnen just soccer-kicked your reality and left it on the ground bleeding helplessly. We now have verifiable proof that Chael Sonnen is indeed the UFC middleweight champion. The guy even has the belt to prove it. We can’t argue with that. The strap is glistening in the sun like some golden shrine built to a deity that gets paid to smash lesser humans’ heads in. We’re not sure what Anderson Silva has sitting on his fireplace mantle — but Sonnen’s belt is obviously a tangible item. Hopefully we’ll see a title unification bout if Chael Sonnen can get past Michael Bisping at UFC on FOX — but in the meantime you should probably check out this Dan Lebatard interview in which he brings his UFC championship belt on set.
