Chael Sonnen Predicts Jon Jones Could Headline UFC 230

Chael Sonnen Is Very Optimistic About Jon Jones Quick Octagon Return

Jon Jones defeated Daniel Cormier via world-class high kick at UFC 214 on July 29, 2017. Yet, the decision was overturned to no contest after Bones was tested positive on Turinabol. Jones hasn’t fought since, and he still waits for official USADA decision. After a catastrophic hearing, he could even face a four-year suspension.

Chael Sonnen and Jon Jones fought back in UFC 159, on April 27, 2013, for UFC Light Heavyweight title. Jones wrecked Sonnen apart and won via first-round TKO after punches and elbows on the ground.

Chael Sonnen is now an ESPN MMA analyst. He hopes Bones will return until the end of 2018. Sonnen describes it in his “Beyond The Fight” podcast. He thinks there is a good reason why Jon Jones posts his training videos on his social media profiles. Chael Sonnen actually tried to read the hidden message behind these videos. (via MMAMania.com)

“If we are to believe that he is going to be out until summer of next year, which is the minimum that he would be out by the rules that have been explained to us, you would have to ask yourself, ‘Why is he training and putting out videos, and having coaches confirm that he is working now in August?’ It just does appear that Jon at least believes that he is about to be cleared and put onto that November card.”

Jones’ license was revoked by CSAC and he was fined $205,000. Jon Jones also hopes for fast return but all eyes are pointed at USADA now. He hasn’t gone through the final phase of arbitration. Who knows, USADA might forgive Bones. If that happens, he could fight in the main event of UFC 230 PPV (pay-per-view) event, which is slated for November 3rd, in Madison Square Garden, New York. UFC wants some big names in the main event.

What do you think, is there a chance Chael Sonnen might be right? Would you like to see Jon Jones in the main event of UFC 230?
