Chael Sonnen discusses his $100 paycheck he earned fighting Babalu which he never cashed

Shortly after losing my job in 2008, I remember thinking the economy was going to get worse before it got better. Every week I filed for unemployment and survived primarily on a diet of Honey Nut Cheerios and whichever flavor Hot Pockets were on sale that week at CVS. I actually never cashed my 2009 economic stimulus check. Although Obama was generous enough to offer me an entire dollar with which to stimulate the economy, the irony of paying thousands of dollars in federal and state taxes resulting in a $1.00 stimulus check seemed like it would provide more humorous value displayed in my foyer than in my wallet. Ultimately, it makes for an excellent discussion whenever a guest sees it, and it will remain Scotch-taped to my wall until enough noise complaints lead to my eviction. Chael Sonnen knows exactly what that feels like. In fact, in this MMA 30 he wants to tell you all about the $100 check he earned for fighting Babalu in his first fight in the UFC; a check that’s still magnetically affixed to his refrigerator.
