Yahoo Sports Writer Kevin Iole Called Chael Sonnen “One Of The Worst Cheaters Of His Era”, But Sonnen Disagrees: “I Was The Best”
Chael Sonnen had a very successful MMA career. He is the former Gladiator Challenge Light Heavyweight champion, the man who fought for UFC 185 and 205-pound title, but also one of the most legendary trash-talkers. “The American Gangster” defeated some notable names – Yushin Okami, Nate Marquardt, Michael Bisping, Mauricio Rua, Wanderlei Silva, and many others. Chael retired after Bellator 222 brutal KO loss to Lyoto Machida.
But Chael Sonnen is also known for failing drug tests. In 2010, his levels of testosterone were way too big. In 2014, Sonnen’s samples were positive on many substances – human growth hormone (HGH), recombinant human erythropoietin (EPO), anastrozole, and human chorionic gonadotropin (hCG).
Kevin Iole from Yahoo Sports wrote an article about Chael’s retirement and his failed drug test history, and called it “Chael Sonnen, one of the worst drug cheats of his era, retires from MMA”.
But if you believed Sonnen would ignore such a headline, you are wrong. The legendary trash-talker took to his Twitter account where he showed his disagreement.
Not to be picky Kevster
But
I wasn't one of the WORST drug cheats of my era
I was the BEST— Chael Sonnen (@ChaelSonnen) June 18, 2019

Chael Sonnen (31-17-1 MMA, 7-7 UFC) retired from fighting, but he still takes part in social media wars.
