If you didn’t watch WEC 45 this weekend because your girlfriend made you put on that ugly sweater she bought you last Christmas and go to Aunt Bethany’s for a rousing game of Jenga and the holiday gift exchange, well then I just shed a tear for you and YOU need a new girlfriend. You missed Ed Ratcliff earning the new nickname of “Iron Balls” as he received not one, not two, but THREE knees to the groin in his bout with Cerrone. He and his titanium jewels kept on going and didn’t take what could have a been a DQ win. That’s hardcore.
While you were un-enjoying a slimy slice of Aunt Bethany’s mystery fruit green jello mold, you also missed the Lyoto Machida of Moms apparently getting pretty pissed off at Cerrone’s low blows. Ratcliff’s Mom is a Karate and Tae Kwon Do black belt and I’m guessing Mom’s was not at all happy about Cerrone putting all her potential little grandbaby’s in harms way when he was landing those blows to the baby makers. Cerrone even had to apologize to her in between all the action as he told MMAJUNKIE.COM:
“I was telling her, ‘I’m sorry, ma’am; I’m not doing this intentionally,'” Cerrone said. “She was, like, legitimately mad.
“I was like, ‘I’m not doing it on purpose. I’m so sorry. I’m so sorry. Calm down. Don’t get me when I get out of the cage.”
Look out Cerrone, your next matchup might be with Mom’s Ratcliff if she finds out Ed isn’t able to produce any grandbabies for her anymore. [Source]
