Carlos Prates, a UFC star on the rise, has a surprising habit of smoking up to 10 cigarettes a day, including before his fights. After defeating Neil Magny and catching the attention of heavyweight champion Jon Jones, Prates expressed a wish to share a cigarette with Jones. He hopes to bond with the champ over their shared experiences and bold decisions outside the cage.

UFC Star Prates Says Smoking with Jon Jones Would Be a Dream Come True
Carlos Prates answered a fan question during a Submission Radio interview about which celebrity he’d like to share a cigarette with before retiring. He gave a thoughtful answer and shared his dream choice with a grin.
“It’s a hard question, but I think Jon Jones,” Prates said. “But, I don’t know if I’m going to enjoy the party like I do in my home city, because Jon Jones is on a different level of guy! Different level of famous, much more famous. Some things he can’t say and do, but it would be cool for sure.”
Jon Jones hasn’t replied yet to Carlos Prates’ invitation to share a smoke. Jones just defended his heavyweight title by defeating Stipe Miocic with a powerful liver kick.
Carlos Prates is on the rise in the welterweight division. He’s been making a name for himself with some impressive knockout wins, including victories over Neil Magny, Li Jingliang, Charles Radtke, and Trevin Giles. If he keeps up the momentum, he could become one of the division’s biggest stars.
Jon Jones might fight Tom Aspinall in 2025. Jon is talking with the UFC about coming back to fight next year. The UFC wants Jon to fight Tom, who has the interim heavyweight champ belt, but Jon hasn’t said yes yet.
Jon and Tom are both excited and hope the fight happens soon. Jon wanted to fight Alex Pereira instead, but the UFC said “no” to that. Alex won his last fight with Khalil Rountree Jr. at UFC 307.
Jon became the heavyweight champ when he beat Ciryl Gane at UFC 285. Before that, Jon took a break to get stronger for the big fights.
There is also a story about Prates. He still smokes, but maybe one day Jon and Prates will make a funny video together that everyone will love.
