Carlos Prates found himself at the center of an unexpected confrontation while attending an MMA event in Turkey. The incident unfolded during the main event at Core FC 2 in Istanbul, where emotions escalated following a controversial stoppage.
The fight featured Erdem Taha Dincer against Mavlud Tupiev. Tupiev controlled much of the early action but began to slow late in the bout. During a sequence along the fence, Dincer landed an illegal soccer kick to the head. Officials ruled Tupiev unable to continue, resulting in a disqualification victory.
Prates Reacts From Cage Side
Prates was seated close to the cage and appeared frustrated by how the fight ended. His reaction from outside drew immediate attention. Tupiev took offense and attempted to confront Prates, moving toward the cage exit before security intervened.
Event staff stepped in quickly, preventing any physical exchange. Prates was escorted away from the area to calm the situation before it escalated further.

Fighter Shares His View
After the incident, Prates addressed the situation publicly and did not hide his frustration.
“That guy give up the fight and said he couldn’t fight because an easy illegal kick,” wrote Prates via IG.
“And 1 minute after get mad with me and try to fight me. Luckily for him, security don’t let us fight, piece of s—t. Stop giving up when you start winning and getting tired bro.”
That’s why Carlos Prates was angry to other fighter.
I think he is right that was a really easy illegal kick.

No punches were thrown, and the situation ended without further incident. While the exact details inside the cage remain debated, the near altercation highlighted how quickly emotions can boil over when controversial calls decide a fight.
Prates ultimately left the venue without further issues, and the MMA event continued as scheduled. His most recent fight was at UFC 322 in November, where he secured a victory over Leon Edwards.
