Carlos Condit revealed how a lesser-known MMA fighter dropped him and Jon Jones in sparring.

Carlos used to spar with Jones

Speaking on the Jaxxon Podcast, “The Natural Born Killer” remembered the time when he was training alongside Rashad Evans and “Bones.” Condit revealed that he used to spar with Jones when the champ was still a little skinnier.

“Oh yeah, we trained together. I trained a little bit with Rashad, I did train with Jon quite a bit, Jon’s a great training partner, yeah [I sparred him], when Jon was a lot skinnier before he started to put more weight on and find his power, I sparred Jon a lot… And then once he started sitting down on his punches and finding his power, I stopped doing that,” Condit said.

Jon got dropped

Condit then made a shocking revelation when he confirmed that a Chechen guy named Adlan Amagov once knocked Jones down in a sparring session. He further noted that it was a spinning back kick that dropped the heavyweight champion.

“I have, yeah. Well, the same guy f**ked me up the round right before too… One morning, I think it was like a Tuesday morning like 9 AM sparring, you know we’re in there tipping and tapping and we get this dude, I don’t know if you guys ever heard of Adlan Amagov. He’s a Chechen dude, he fought in the UFC a couple of times and the last time man, they carried his opponent out on his stretcher, but yeah, he finished a number of guys [in training]. He was like a spinning back kick guy and he f**ked me up and then I think a round or two later, he hit Jon with that spinning back kick and he dropped him,” he added.

As it stands, Jones is heavily linked to a title fight with Tom Aspinall. Nothing is concrete yet but even UFC president Dana White is already excited about it.
