Cain Velasquez unifies the UFC heavyweight and lineal MMA titles (if you care about that kinda thing) with ease!

If you combine Velasquez/Bigfoot I and II into a single highlight reel, you’ll create a beatdown that would have the moderators at World Star Hip Hop thinking twice about posting. Both fights were still extremely important though, think of Bigfoot like Obi Wan getting cut down by Darth Vader in Episode IV. It had to happen, especially tonight, because with this knockout loss to Cain Velasquez, the lineal MMA championship was unified with the UFC heavyweight title. To some, this means nothing. Less than nothing, if there can be such a thing. And to others that may or may not have certain Rain Man-esque qualities, this was the best thing to happen in a long, long time.

The title that was once held by Fedor, taken by Werdum, then Overeem and then Bigfoot has been magically placed around Cain Velasquez’s waist, and now we can be satisfied in the idea of this weird, somewhat obtuse dual lineage of champions in the heavyweight division has finally come to an end. Whew. Finally.

Cain vs. JDS III now!
