Cain Velasquez has a slew of supporters within the MMA community in the aftermath of an alleged shooting.
What Allegedly Happened
On Tuesday, March 1, it was reported that Velasquez was arrested and charged with attempted murder. The former UFC Heavyweight Champion allegedly shot a man in the Bay Area. The incident was said to have occurred Monday afternoon.
Sources later told Middle Easy that Cain was targeting a man who allegedly sexually abused his daughter. Cain is said to have shot at the car which had the man in question and two other people off Monterey Highway and Bailey Avenue. Cain ended up shooting the man’s stepfather at least once. The stepfather is expected to survive.
Velasquez was taken into the County of Santa Clara Department of Corrections facility where he is being held without bail. He’s scheduled to appear in court on Wednesday, March 2.
