‘Durinho’ might be down, but he’s not out.

Fight Of The Night

Gilbert Burns suffered a unanimous decision loss to Khamzat Chimaev at UFC 273. It would not be a lopsided defeat for the #2 contender, nor would it be a boring fight. The two men traded on the feet for a fantastic three rounds.

Burns had his moments in the brawl, but would ultimately lose on the judges scorecards. Despite the loss, Burns will bring home a fight-of-the-night bonus as well as an extra win bonus. Thanks, Dana White.

Burns On The Loss

The former UFC title challenger would reflect on his second welterweight loss on Sunday.

“Had a lot of fun yesterday unfortunately was not enough to get the win,” Burns wrote on Instagram. “Shoutout to my family, team, sponsors and fans for the support! Love you guys. Another lesson learn!  I won’t rest until I have the belt! Thank God another opportunity to do what I love!”

“Shoutout to everyone from UFC team the security the guys guys with the blue, doctors and @danawhite it’s a pleasure fight for this company! ALL GLORY TO GOD!”

The journey is far from over for Gilbert Burns.

It looks like he’ll look to learn from this ‘lesson’ as he continues his UFC career. He won’t stop until he gets his hands on a UFC title, something he nearly did against Kamaru Usman at UFC 258.
