Bummer, Wanderlei Silva is out of UFC 116

Alright, so I have some good news and bad news. You probably already know the bad news, Ariel Helwani of MMAFighting broke the news that Wanderlei Silva is out of UFC 116 due to fractured ribs suffered in training. Yeah, that’s definitely the worst type of ‘bad news’ that I could deliver to you guys so I’ll make it up with back-to-back ‘good news’. First, we will still be able to see Sexyama on PPV July 3rd. Yoshihiro Akiyama and all of his sexiness will be available for UFC 116 as the bout has not be scrapped (yet).

The second part of the ‘good news’ that I promised earlier is that I found this really cool picture of a vintage Micheal Jordan appearing on the David Letterman Show. You guys can borrow it, but just be sure to give it back to me by the end of the day.

UFC 116 still features Carwin vs. Lesnar, Sotiropoulos vs. Kurt Pellegrino and Chris Lytle vs. Matt Brown so don’t start creating ‘UFC 116 is cursed!’ threads on your favorite MMA message boards until something else unexpectedly tragic happens (knock on all available wood possible). [Source]

Update: Chris Leben has agreed to replace Wanderlei Silva at UFC 116. Keep in mind, the dude just fought three days ago. Long live the red-haired and hardcore. [Source]
