Bummer, DJ Michael Bisping may have spun his last deck

Say it ain’t so, DJ Michael Bisping. Just when the MiddleEasy offices were hoping to book you for our end of year, bubble dance party blowout bash for all six of us, you come out and tell the lovely Stephie D that you may be hanging up your vinyl for good? C’mon son, don’t do it. You’re not going to fight forever, but DJ’s live multiple lifetimes (not actually confirmed). Just hearing the news that you may have spun your last set has our work at a standstill.

No DJ MIchael Bisping? No point to this world. This almost makes me want to pull out the lamest move in a content producer/media member/quasi journalist could ever do: The open letter. Considering the above paragraph is close to a plea directly to The Count, I may as well address him directly in what could be the first open letter in MiddleEasy history (not actually confirmed).

Dear DJ Michael Bisping,

Please don’t become Michael Bisping. And if you do, you will always have the DJ prefix in our hearts.

Love,

MiddleEasy

I just Dj’d at Sutra last week, there in Costa Mesa. I’ll be honest, that might have been my last one. When I was a kid, I used to DJ a lot, and that was how I was able to train full time and still keep a roof over my head. I was obsessed with it. I loved it.

When my UFC career took off, I stopped doing it. After a while, I got back into it. It was all anybody would ever talk about, and I needed a hobby outside of fighting. I started taking a few bookings and this and that, but I think I might be getting a little bit too old for it. I’m 34 years old now [laughs]. I’m probably still going to do the odd set here and there, but they’ll be few and far between.

I don’t do it for the money, I am just very passionate about the music. If I do the odd set, it will have to be at one of the nicer places, because that’s not the best environment to be in, that late at night. I do enjoy the music, and it’s nice to get out there and spin a set every once in a while.

Don’t. Ever. Stop. You are the greatest DJ in the history of MMA (confirmed).
