Bummer, Chris Leben was arrested for allegedly driving while intoxicated

Oh no, not The Crippler. Anyone but The Cripper. Let me rephrase that, anyone but me and The Crippler. I was just over at LayzieTheSavage‘s house looking at the replay of Chris Leben vs. Sexyama when the news broke that Leben was arrested for allegedly driving while intoxicated after he wrecked his truck into a wall. Good news is Chris Leben seems to have escaped the accident without any serious injury. The bad news, of course, is that every website is going to publish this story. Bummer.

HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) – An Oahu-based mixed martial arts fighter is scheduled to appear before a judge next month after he crashed his truck on the H1 Freeway while allegedly driving under the influence.

Officers arrested Christian Leben, 30, a middleweight fighter known as the Crippler, on suspicion of operating a vehicle under the influence of an intoxicant Tuesday. He was released from custody after posting $1,000 bail.

Police say Leben was driving on the west-bound side of the H1 Freeway just before 2 AM, when he lost control of his pickup and crashed into a wall near the Kapiolani Boulevard off ramp. He was allegedly driving without a license and without insurance.

He is scheduled to appear at Honolulu District Court November 22.

It’s good to know that Honolulu has a district court. I always imagined that place to be filled with human/bat hybrids and little robotic pets. Wait, that’s not how you guys envision it? Maybe I need to touch up on my geographical stereotypes. [Source]
