Bryce Mitchell is down to take on Ilia Topuria after getting called out.

The ninth-ranked UFC featherweight contender is coming off an impressive win over Edson Barboza in his last outing in March at UFC 272. Mitchell has gone undefeated in 15 bouts as a professional and has racked up five consecutive wins under the banner after winning the American reality television series and mixed martial arts competition The Ultimate Fighter Season 27 in Jul. 2018.

Bryce Mitchell responds to Ilia Topuria’s Callout

In a recent video posted on his Twitter account, Mitchell issued his response to Topuria’s callout of him.

“I see I’m getting called out by Ilia Topuria now to fight. He wants to go on Twitter and post a picture of his abs, his little perfect 8-pack or whatever. Hey, buddy, you see (my stomach)? You see that, buddy? I’ve been eating peanut butter cookies for three weeks now and I’ll still get off the couch and whoop your ass, buddy. I don’t give a damn about them abs. Let’s go, buddy. I’m tired of you putting my name in your mouth, shouldn’t have done it.”

Topuria called out Mitchell earlier this week

Topuria made his way into the promotion after lining a string of finishes in his first eight fights as a pro. Since joining the UFC, he has maintained an unblemished record of 12-0, with four of those wins coming in the company. He’s currently on the fringes of the 145-pound rankings as the 14th-ranked contender.

On Oct. 14, Topuria issued a ‘thirst trap’ callout of Mitchell, posting a photo of his shredded abs and tagging ‘Thug Nasty’ along with it.

Topuria responded to Mitchell’s video in a series of tweets expressing his excitement at the matchup.

“Ready to die making weight. Finally! See you November 5.”

Mitchell and Topuria appear to have agreed to settle their differences inside the octagon but it remains to be seen if the UFC wants to book the fight.
