UFC bantamweight Bryce Mitchell, known for his social media presence and bold personality, sustained a broken nose during training on Tuesday. Lacking health insurance, Mitchell turned to the public for help, posting a video to Instagram showing his nose heavily bandaged and bleeding.
“Searcy can anyone help me please? can a dr reset this for me? i dont have medical insurance ill pay cash if u want money,” Mitchell wrote alongside the clip.
In the video, he explained the situation further:
“I’m in Searcy, Arkansas right now. I need my nose straightened out. I just got it broken. You can tell, it’s sideways or whatever. Dude, the doctors are so expensive. They’re like $2,000, or some sh*t just to set my nose. Can somebody in Searcy by the grace of God please set my nose back straight for free? If you could fix my nose for free in Searcy, Arkansas right now send me a message and I’ll probably go to you instead of the doctor because this is probably going to be thousands of dollars.”
Public Plea for Free Medical Help
Mitchell, who is uninsured, said the cost of professional care was far beyond what he could afford, prompting his unusual public request. His direct and candid appeal immediately drew attention from fans and followers.
He added: “Dude, the doctors are so expensive. They’re like $2,000, or some sh*t just to set my nose. Can somebody in Searcy by the grace of God please set my nose back straight for free?”

Bryce Mitchell Finds Assistance
After reaching out publicly, Mitchell found someone willing to help him for free. In a follow-up video, he shared the update and expressed gratitude:
“Hey, I wanted to let ya’ll know I’m doing really good. I wasn’t in pain at all, so that was really good. For whatever reason it just didn’t hurt the whole time.”
He continued, reflecting on his initial concern about the injury’s severity:
“I was worried because I didn’t know exactly what to do and I didn’t know if it would ever come back straight again. That was my main concern, but I’m totally healed. Thank the lord. God, thank you so much for healing me.”
Mitchell admitted he initially felt guilty for asking for free help, but reassured fans he learned a lesson:
“Also, I apologize for looking like a cheapskate because right when that happened my brain went to primal, survival instinct and I started thinking, ‘Oh man, this is going to be expensive. What have I done here? This is going to be thousands of dollars to fix, and it’s a shame that’s where my brain went to but that was my main concern.
“My buddy did fix it for free, but I’m going to try not to be a cheapskate next time. I’ve been to the doctor, honestly have not had a problem paying with what I’ve been charged. One time I got a big piece of wood stuck in my hand and it was only $600 to get it out and it was worth it. When I ripped my nuts in half, it was only $1,250. That was the best $1,250 I’ve ever spent, so I really do feel I was being a cheapskate asking everybody to do it, somebody could help me out so I could save like a thousand bucks. But my buddy Josh did help me out and I did save like a thousand bucks, so thank you God and thank you Josh King and thank all of ya’ll for your concerns.”

Mitchell’s experience highlights the struggles of uninsured fighters and the unique challenges they face when injuries occur outside of official UFC events. His willingness to ask for help publicly, combined with the support of his community, allowed him to avoid a prolonged or worsening injury.
