Brock Lesnar Looking To Make UFC Return In August

It seems like two lifetimes since Brock Lesnar stormed the cage, and shoved Daniel Cormier. However the pair are looking to finally meet up for a fight, perhaps in August.

Since Daniel Cormier beat Stipe Miocic at UFC 226, and Brock Lesnar rushed in and gave DC a mighty shove, the MMA world has been calling for a match between the two. The WWE Superstar has had several things holding him back from a UFC return, not least of which is having to be in the USADA testing pool for six months before competing. On top of that, there is Lesnar’s busy WWE schedule.

However, it would appear that the wait is almost over. The WWE Champ, and the UFC Double-Champ are in talks for a bout in August, per Ariel Helwani on Sports Center. According to the report, the UFC is looking to book the bout between the two in August, although no location or firm date have been established.

Brock Lesnar is looking to defend his WWE belt at Wrestlemania, against Seth Rollins, this weekend. This would be Lesnar’s first UFC bout since defeating Mark Hunt at UFC 200. However, the bout would be overturned due to a failed drug test from Lesnar.

Since defeating Stipe Miocic, Daniel Cormier went on to defend his Heavyweight title against Derrick Lewis. He went on to relinquish his Light Heavyweight belt, prior to Jon Jones’s return bout against Anthony Smith.

The bout between Brock Lesnar and Daniel Cormier is almost a year in the making. If it ends up happening in August, it will be a huge event.
