  • Brendan Schaub blasted UFC 313 main event judges over Magomed Ankalaev’s win over Alex Pereira
  • “Bapa” thinks ESPN’s pay-per-view technical issues were intentional

Brendan Schaub criticized the judges for giving Magomed Ankalaev the decision win over Alex Pereira at UFC 313 and claimed that ESPN intentionally created issues during the pay-per-view stream.

Alex won

Speaking on his official YouTube channel, “Bapa” lashed out at the judges of UFC 313 main event. Schaub argued that “Poatan” undoubtedly won rounds one, three and five, making him deserving of the nod.

“If you don’t have Alex winning this fight one, three and five, you ain’t sh*t. You ain’t sh*t Mondays,” Schaub exclaimed. “If you don’t have Alex winning the first, third- the third is all I can debate with you. I get the debate for winning the round for Alex. If you don’t have Alex winning one and five, you don’t know the f**king sport.”

Schaub speculated that the UFC wouldn’t let Ankalaev hold the light heavyweight title for a long time. He is certain an immediate rematch will happen but Pereira will not go for a trilogy fight and move up to heavyweight instead.

“It’s a nightmare for the UFC that he [Ankalaev] won,” Schaub said. “A nightmare. Look at Dana’s (White) face. You can tell by his face. He’s looking at Bruce Buffer, and he just goes, ‘F**k.’ It’s a nightmare that Ankalaev’s the champ.”

“Now they will do immediate rematch,” he assessed. “[Pereira] He’s your biggest star, he’s what’s keeping the UFC afloat. There’s not a ton of stars and we can go through it, it’s a bit of a sh*t show, it’s a bit of a sh*t show so they need Alex, so you get immediate rematch… You would hope he learns from this and he’s going to be a champ [again] and they’re not going to do a trilogy. They’re not going to do that. [Alex] is going to beat him, he’s go to heavyweight, so this is just a kink in the road

“Ankalaev did Ankalaev sh*t. He looked no different, nothing was special, no chain wrestling, just held him against the cage, that’s it,” he added.

ESPN sabotaged UFC 313 PPV

Schaub also talked about how awful ESPN’s pay-per-view service at UFC 313. He believes the prominent sports broadcasting network purposely came up with technical issues to prove a point to the UFC now that they are in the middle of negotiations for broadcasting rights.

“I couldn’t get a f**king pay-per-view so I have to watch it other ways geez, I wonder why so many people are illegally streaming your sh*t because this is what you’re providing The whole ESPN+, the pay-per-view not working, they’re in negotiations rights right now, if you think that wasn’t on purpose, you’re out of your mind,” Schaub said. “That’s ESPN, who doesn’t give a flying f*ck about the UFC, really. They’re in turmoil. But if you don’t think that’s a flex from them… I’ve never had issues with them, now all of a sudden during [rights negotiations], issues just pop up?,” Schaub questioned.

“That’s someone going, ‘Oh, really, you want to play hard ball? This is what your numbers will look like without us’… “Never had issues. All of a sudden, half the f*cking world has issues? That’s weird. During negotiations? That’s weird,” he added.

Contrary to Schaub’s take, Ankalaev stated that Pereira kept running for the majority of their fight, insisting that he clearly outpointed the champ. As it stands, “Poatan” is now focused on having a quick rematch.
