Dana White recently teased a massive fight set for 2025, leaving MMA fans to wonder about the potential matchup.

Brendan Schaub Reveals His Prediction for a Surprising UFC Matchup in 2025

Former UFC heavyweight Brendan Schaub, known for his bold opinions, has weighed in on what could be in the works.

“With the internet today, and like the rumors and fake news, it’s damn near impossible to blow somebody,” Schaub said.

“No matter what he [Dana White] says, when I heard them like, ‘What could it be?’ The only thing that would blow me, like blow me hard, like b*st hard, would be if it’s Francis. He has one fight left on PFL contract. He’s going to finish that out fighting who; God knows what poor soul they’re going to find to get knocked out by him.”

“And then, he’ll be a free agent. If they’re like, ‘We got Francis back in the mix. Francis is going to fight the winner, guaranteed winner, of Aspinall-Jones.’ That would blow me. But that’s where I’m at. That’s very difficult to get done. Outside that, what else could it be?”

Schaub believes the big surprise White hinted at might involve Francis Ngannou making a UFC return to face either Jon Jones or Tom Aspinall. Ngannou, who left the UFC in 2023 after a fallout over fighter pay and other issues, has been busy outside the promotion, including a boxing match with Tyson Fury and a knockout win in his PFL debut. With both Jones and Aspinall set to fight for the heavyweight title next year, a potential clash between Ngannou and the winner would certainly be a major surprise for fans.

On top of that, Schaub mentioned the possibility of a rematch between Nate Diaz and Jake Paul, which could be a headline event for UFC’s International Fight Week. After their first fight in 2023, where Paul won by unanimous decision, there’s been a lot of buzz about the two facing off again—this time in the UFC Octagon.

While none of this is confirmed yet, it’s clear that 2025 could hold some unforgettable moments for UFC fans. Whether Ngannou returns to challenge the heavyweight champion or we see Diaz and Paul throw down in a new format, the excitement is building for what’s next in the world of MMA
