Brendan Schaub Hits Back at Critics Saying Jon Jones Is Avoiding Aspinall
At UFC 309, Jon Jones won against Stipe Miocic with an amazing spinning back kick in Madison Square Garden, New York. While Jon showed great skill, Stipe, at 42 years old, wasn’t at the top of his game like he used to be.
Many fans thought that Stipe Miocic wasn’t as strong as he used to be, so they really wanted Tom Aspinall to fight Jon Jones instead.
Even though the fight is over, Jon Jones isn’t showing much excitement for a big fight with Aspinall. This has made fans really mad. But Brendan Schaub, a former fighter, is sticking up for Jon. He told the fans to “shut up” in a video on his YouTube channel.
“I can almost guarantee you, we’ll never see another Jon Jones again—dominating like this. He has a leg up on the UFC.
“You should be celebrating this; you should be supporting this. If I’ve ever seen a resume for a fighter to demand a certain amount of pay and actually get it, it’s Jon Jones.
“So, pick a lane. Either you want fighters to get compensated what they’re worth, or you just want them to fight whoever the f**k they (The UFC) tell them to fight.
“You finally have a guy who has a leg up on the UFC and can do that. He doesn’t need anyone or anything to be considered the greatest of all time, and all he’s asking is, ‘Pay me like I’m the greatest of all time’.
“People are like, ‘You’re ducking him, just get in there with him it’s the right thing to do’, shut up!
“If you’re going to cry over fighters not getting compensated and not getting taken care of, and then when a guy finally does, you s**t on him, well, that doesn’t make sense, does it?
“That’s f**ing stupid in the grand scheme of things, isn’t it? It’s kind of ridiculous when you say it out loud, isn’t it? It makes no f***ing sense, y’all.”

Even though Schaub is standing up for Jon Jones, not everyone agrees with him.
Lots of people are still really mad at Jon for not being excited about fighting Aspinall. One fighter, who used to fight for a world title, says Jon has hurt his reputation a lot and might not be able to fix it.
