Bobby Lashley will be fighting for the heavyweight title at Sharkfights 21

They say every time a bell rings Lashley devours another galaxy. If you crossed Bobby Lashley’s path, you would urinate over your khakis, go to the nearest ATM, withdraw all of your money — and give him your girlfriend as a sign of respect. Sort of like the Aztecs used to sacrifice virgins to the gods. In this case, ‘God’ is Bobby Lashley and your girlfriend is a figment of your sex deprived imagination. Bobby Lashley will take some time off from defending the galaxy from the likes of King Zarkon to fly to planet Earth in order to challenge former TUFer, Darrill Schoonover, for the Sharkfights heavyweight title.

Most of you remember Schoonover for his moniker that Rampage Jackson granted him during TUF 10. I won’t repeat it here, but it’s the same thing that Violet Budd has just enough of. Schoonover grabbed the Sharkfights title back in 2009 at Sharkfights 4 when he TKOd Rex Richards, just weeks before the filming of TUF 10. Since then, the guy has gone on a five-loss streak, just before grabbing a win over Adam Padilla this past summer.

Bobby Lashley took his 2010 loss against Chad Griggs pretty hard; at one point he even threatened to quit MMA because of it. For all we know, Chad Griggs could very well be the GOAT of the heavyweight division. It’s not that unreasonable of an assumption. In his past three fights, no one really gave him a chance, yet he roughnecked his way to two TKOs and even submitted Valentijn Overeem via a flurry of punches in the first round of the Strikeforce Heavyweight Grand-Prix. Bobby Lashley’s only career loss was due to the meathooks that Griggs calls hands, so if Lashley did lose to the heavyweight GOAT, things aren’t that bad.

The title fight goes down November 11th and will most likely air on HDNet, so get your popcorn and Devil’s Food Cake Cookies ready. [Source]
