After spending the morning sitting watching a Mighty Morphin’ Power Rangers marathon involuntarily and reading about MMA voluntarily, the two are as fused in my head as Bellator and Game of Thrones are. I may no longer recognize any of the kids in the show any more but that didn’t stop me from imagining the Red Ranger as Cung Le, or the Green Ranger as John Makdessi. Just when things looked dire and the bad guy has magically grown to be 200 feet tall, the Power Rangers know how to pull out the win and bust out their Zords. Instead of six rangers versus one bad guy, we now have a battle between two colossal aberrations of nature. This was always my favorite part of the show which goes some way towards explaining why I’m looking forward to KSW 19 on May 12th which will feature a headline clash between another two colossal aberrations, Bob Sapp and Mariusz Pudzianowski.
Wojslaw from @mmarocks_pl tweeted earlier that Polish promotion KSW will be putting on this PRIDE-worthy fight. I’ve never been to Poland but due to recent mass immigration I’ve had a chance to sample traditional Polish food and while you may expect this fight to be at super heavyweight, don’t be surprised to see Bob Sapp coming in a little lighter than normal due to having only been able to find rolled herring and some sort of pork…thing. Never mind Power Rangers, this could turn into an epic match of Rock-em Sock-em Robots.
