- Bo Nickal pointed out Khamzat Chimaev’s biggest disadvantage in their potential match
- The undefeated middleweight believes “Borz” won’t be able to finish him
Bo Nickal is confident Khamzat Chimaev will eventually get too exhausted if they ever face each other inside the Octagon.
Bo thinks Khamzat wouldn’t last against him
Speaking on his YouTube channel, the unbeaten middleweight sensation provided a “realistic” prediction of his potential showdown with “Borz.” According to Nickal, Chimaev is a well-rounded and highly skilled fighter but it will all boil down to their stamina.
Nickal is certain that it would be a long fight and Chimaev will gas out as the match progresses.
“It’s hard to say exactly where he’s at. I think that he’s good, he’s got skills, but his biggest thing that’s going to crush him, especially [in] the fight against me is, dude, you’re going to get tired. You’re going to go like this [downward] and I’m going to go like this [upward] as they fight goes on,” Nickal predicted.
“You’re not going to take me down, which is your best attribute, so you’re going to have to strike with me. I’m probably going to take you down, maybe I don’t hold you down on the ground forever, but I can hold you down there for a little bit. And the longer the fight goes, the worse it’s going to get, so that’s kind of my view of it from 30,000 feet and trying to take all of the information that we have and look at it from a realistic perspective.”
Bo says Khamzat can’t stop him like he did with Whittaker
Nickal further mentioned that Chimaev’s “emotion” would also be a disadvantage when they fight. For Bo, his non-emotional approach will allow him to outsmart “Borz.”
Moreover, Nickal pointed out that Chimaev will never be able to brutalize him like he did with Robert Whittaker at UFC 308.
“Here’s the difference between Khamzat and I… you look at me when I go out to fight, zero emotion. No emotion when I’m competing, I’m here to win. Him, he’s charged up, he’s screaming, he’s yelling, he’s coming out and a lot of MMA fans nowadays look at that and they’re like that’s the way to do it, that’s aggressive and that’s the guy that’s going to win. But guess what? if you’re going to fight and beat the guys that are the best in the world, you got to do it with your brain because we’re all strong, we all have skills, we’re all talented and we all train hard but what separates us is I have no emotion going out to compete and I compete smart,” Nickal said.
“Me and Robert Whittaker are too different [fighters]. That’s not the same thing. He’s not doing that to me. There’s zero chance, I guarantee you there’s 0.00% chance that he’s ever going to do that to me,” he added.
Nickal is coming off a lackluster win over Paul Craig at UFC 309. On the other hand, Chimaev is being viewed as another suitable opponent for Alex Pereira. It is yet to be known if the pair will ever be considered for a showdown.
