It’s not everyday you see a 1-0 fighter get a shot at the UFC. For Bo Nickal, that’s exactly the case here.
The former Penn State wrestling champ would make his successful MMA debut just last month. In a twist, Nickal wouldn’t win his first fight with wrestling. Instead, the 26 year-old took just 33 seconds to brutally knock out John Noland on the feet.
The Next Challenge
Nickal’s incredible highlight not only put him on the UFC’s radar, but on the Contender Series schedule for the summer. Nickal will reportedly fight Zachary Borrego on August 9th, according to Chris Ferguson.
‘Once He Wins, He’s In’
ickal’s manager, Malki Kawa would confirm the news on Friday.
“He’s going to fight on the Contender (Series) next,” Kawa told MMA Underground. “He’s fighting on the Contender next, at 1-0. He’s signed to the UFC, though. You’ve got to understand what I’m trying to tell you. Do you know what I mean? He’s on the Contender, but you know how that goes. Once he wins, he’s in.”
Will 1-0 Bo Nickal earn a UFC contract on Contender Series?
