Not a long time ago, BJ Penn was slammed with a restriction order after the mother of his two children accused him of “years of physical, emotional, and sexual abuse”. But the former UFC two-division champion has new legal troubles at the moment!

The UFC legend is also accused of threatening taro farmer with a machete! The trespassing incident happened in January 2018. BJ Penn is under police investigation for “first-degree terroristic threatening”, which is a felony. He could face five years in jail and a 10,000 dollars fine.

The prosecutor claims the case is still active, but, according to the Sergeant Jason Grouns of the Hawaii Police Department, “not all the parties which took part in the incident have been located as of yet”. Penn’s lawyer Gary Levitt issued the following statement. (via MMAJunkie.com)

“B.J. said he’s never given a statement to the police; they haven’t told him he’s got a terroristic threatening charge, or there are charges pending,” Levitt said. “He just said there was an incident, it was over one year ago, and it had to do with a gate. There was no threatening or machete or anything like that.”

BJ Penn is set to fight Clay Guida at UFC 237. The two will square off on May 11, 2019, at Jeunesse Arena in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. BJ is riding on a cold streak with six losses in a row. He fought for the last time in the preliminary card of UFC 232, where he was forced to tap out by submission specialist Ryan Hall.
