Bibiano Fernandes talks about the time at DREAM 11 when Joe Warren tried to ‘fake tap’

Some of you may remember Bibiano Fernandes from such MMA fights as ‘Make Joe Warren tap via armbar, give him the finger and then run out of the arena while giving him the finger again‘ and ‘Circle around Masakazu Imanari while he sits down in the middle of the Yokohama Arena.’ On October 6th 2009 at Dream 11, Bibiano Fernandes grabbed the split decision over Hiroyuki Takaya to strap the DREAM Featherweight Grand Prix belt around his 138 lb frame. That same night, Joe Warren told everyone who could understand English that in fact he didn’t tap when Bibiano caught him in a rather tight armbar. Years have passed, Super Hulks have been awarded, and last week we caught up with Bibiano Fernandes in Manila, Philippines shortly before his successful ONE FC debut. Occasionally we publish stories on MiddleEasy just for the hardcore fans that have followed the sport for years and remember innocuous controversies such as this one. For those that don’t remember, it’s cool. We’ve found the fight for you on YouTube since you’re too lazy to do it. Now check out this edition of Blast to the Past featuring Bibiano Fernandes and the infamous ‘fake tap’ at DREAM 11.
