Bert Kreischer and Israel Adesanya were about to challenge a whole bar to a fight in New Zealand.

Currently, UFC middleweight champion Israel Adesanya is without a fight lined up, however, that doesn’t mean he isn’t ready to take on a challenge. According to comedian Bert Kreischer, he and Adesanya almost got into a brawl with a whole bar full of patrons. Kreischer is known for being a stand-up comic and a friend of Joe Rogan. He was recently on his friend Rogan’s podcast when they began talking about “Stylebender.” Rogan knows Adesanya well from working for the UFC and he was eager to hear about these two worlds colliding with a UFC fighter and his comedian friend.

According to Kreischer, he had been bad-mouthing Adesnaya before they met. He recalls saying he thinks he would have been able to beat up the UFC champ under certain circumstances.

“I used to say that I think I could beat up Stylebender, if we were drinking. We’d have to drink the same amount of beers and then getting the cage, we had to drink 12 beers and get in the cage,” he said. “It was a joke. I was fooling around with Tommy I’d never thought I’d meet Stylebender. That motherf–ker rolls up to my show in New Zealand and first of all is way bigger than you think. And his hands are huge and they’re soft. And the first thing he does Joe is he grabs my arm to like dap me up and he throws a knee and he grabs him by the back of the neck and goes, you still think you could f-ck me up. And I’m like, I’m so sorry. That guy is the coolest motherf–kers.”

The two met up in Adesanya’s home country of New Zealand and apparently had a great time together. According to Kreischer, they were hanging out at a bar when they decided to challenge the whole place to a fight. Kreischer thought it was a joke and first but played along, thinking the middleweight champ would protect him.

“We get pretty lit a bar at three in the morning in New Zealand and he stands up and I stand up with him back to back shirtless both of us and we challenge everyone in the bar to a fist fight,” he said. “He goes, his first words out of his mouth I’ll kill every motherf–ker in the room for this man right here. So then you know my shirt comes off…we go to table to table challenging motherf–kers, who wants it? I ended up
buying the whole bar shots, three times.”

Luckily no violence happened that night, only a new budding friendship. Adesanya is saving his fighting for the cage and although he does not have his next opponent lined up yet, he is keeping a close eye on Dricus Du Plessis, following some trash talk between these two
