Benoit Saint Denis stunned the crowd at Madison Square Garden with a lightning-fast finish over veteran Beneil Dariush in the UFC 322 main card catchweight bout. Dariush, who came in 1.2 pounds over the lightweight limit, faced the rising French contender in a clash that lasted mere seconds.
Dariush (23-6-1) returned to the Octagon after rebounding from consecutive knockout losses with a decision victory over Renato Moicano. The 36-year-old has consistently held a spot among the UFC lightweight top 10 but was immediately tested by the aggressive Saint Denis.
Saint Denis (15-3, 1 NC) has had a breakout 2025, earning two submission wins in quick succession over Mauricio Ruffy and Kyle Prepolec. Known for his finishing ability, every one of his 15 professional victories has come by knockout or submission. A third win in six months now puts him firmly in the discussion for title contention.
