Beneil Dariush says he has no injuries after Quillan Salkilld stopped him at UFC Perth. The co-main event loss brought fresh retirement concern after the UFC Perth knockout finish, but Dariush is taking time away instead of making a rushed call.
Dariush addressed fans on Instagram after the fight.
“I’m good friends,” Dariush wrote. “I have no injuries and I appreciate everyone checking on me. I’ll be taking some time off and heading over to Sydney tomorrow for the week. God bless.”

Dariush Gives Himself Time Before Deciding What Comes Next
Dariush has been part of the UFC lightweight picture for more than a decade. He made his Octagon debut in 2014 and is listed at 23-8-1 overall, with the UFC listing him at 17-8-1 in the promotion. His résumé includes wins over Tony Ferguson, Mateusz Gamrot, Carlos Diego Ferreira, Jim Miller, and Michael Johnson, which is why this current stretch has drawn a stronger reaction than a normal setback.
The concern is not about one bad night. Dariush has spent years fighting elite lightweights, and recent knockout losses have changed the tone around his future. Salkilld used the win to move closer to the ranked mix, while Dariush now has to decide whether a break leads to another fight or a longer pause.
He has not announced retirement. He said he is uninjured, taking time off, and traveling to Sydney. After another knockout at UFC Perth, the next decision matters more than the next matchup.
