There is a curse in MMA. It’s called ‘Wearing your sunglasses indoors’. I wish I could take claim for it but I can’t. Our photographer called it at UFC 108 and so far the dude has been 100% correct. Thiago Silva rocked sunglasses indoors, he caught an L. Tonight, Jamie Varner thought it would be trendy to sport goggles…nah, not in the least. Early in the third round, Ben Henderson managed to pull a standing (or hanging) guillotine choke when he literally jumped Varner, threw his arm in and attempted to cut off all available oxygen in Jamie’s head. It was pretty effective and seconds later, Bendo became the undisputed WEC lightweight champion. Here’s what my Twitter feed looked liked immediately after the victory.
