WEC NEVER DIE! The tiny blue cage was in Milwaukee in spirit last night as UFC on Versus delivered a thrilling and free card featuring some familiar faces to the network: Donald Cerrone and Ben Henderson. It seems like yesterday I was arguing over what was 2009’s fight of the year: Bhendo/Cowboy 1 or Melendez/Thomson II. Amazing how much things can change in under two years. Reminiscing aside, the WEC was strong in the Cowboy and the Smooth one last night, and they don’t mind wearing the memory of their former organization like a badge of honor.
If you remember back when the WEC was devoured by the UFC, Jim Miller didn’t think too kindly of the incoming talent. Here is Ben Henderson and Cowboy Cerrone’s rebuttal. With a little bit of competition evaluation thrown in at the end.
By the end of the video, Ben Henderson realized he’s going to have to clear out Jackson’s entire camp.
