Ben Askren Gives His Prediction For The UFC 241 Co-Main Event

UFC 241 is fast approaching, and so is the return of Nate Diaz. However if you ask Ben Askren, this return may not go as planned.

UFC 241 will be Diaz’s first fight, since losing a majority decision to Conor McGregor in 2016. He is taking on former lightweight champ Anthony Pettis, a fight that Diaz himself made happen. Despite this, according to Ben Askren, this may not be the best match up for Diaz.

Askren took to social media to give his thoughts on this fight. In a tweet he posted, he gave his prediction as to who will take it. However it seems that he is not thinking very highly of Diaz’s chances.

I think that @showtimepettis makes @natediaz209 look real bad this weekend”

That is quite the bold prediction from Askren. Not only does he not think Diaz will win, he does not think it will be close. Although this could be a result of a relationship Askren has with Pettis.

Askren is coming off a loss to Jorge Masvidal, the first of his career. This 5 second flying knee has put him out of competition for a little bit. Nevertheless, he could be looking for a fight with the loser of this fight. There is a solid chance that the winner would face Masvidal.

UFC 241 takes place this Saturday, live on pay-per-view. It is headlined by a heavyweight title rematch between Daniel Cormier and Stipe Miocic. Nate Diaz vs Anthony Pettis pulls up in the co-main event.

Is Ben Askren right about who will win the co-main event? Or will Nate Diaz walk away with the win?
