Ben Askren. Dude was Frate Trane branded since the day the list was first posted. Sure, he went to his sixth straight decision tonight and the boo birds were out in full force, but Ben Askren can learn to finish people. He’s with Duke Roufus and Anthony Pettis in Wisconsin. He’ll be fine. Let’s face it here: the MMA world is quickly realizing that solving the funky Ben Askren puzzle is not a simple task by any stretch of the imagination.
Ben Askren, the fro’d MMA enigma, who at this point in his career is loathed for not having the perceived ‘want’ or some say ability to finish his opponents, but they can’t finish him either. With every bout, the list of welterweights that could defeat Ben Askren gets shorter and shorter. I guarantee you Ben Askren is polishing his favorite disc golf equipment and smirking at his haters tonight, so where do we really stand? What’s next for the champ here? Karl Amoussou, Ben Saunders, Bryan Baker and David Rickels are fighting at Bellator 67 to figure that out.
Aside from a few stiff shots from Lima at the beginning of the fight, it was all Askren. Let’s turn to the .gif by Zombie Prophet.
If you were disappointed by the high rate of decisions tonight, check out Mike Richman Vs. Chris Horodecki. Ouch.
