Jimmy Smith has left his post as Bellator’s main color commentator, in a new statement he said ‘I am very Grateful to the entire Bellator organization and fans for an amazing and unforgettable nine years, As I move on to the next phase of my career, I want to wish all of the fighters, producers and Bellator staff the absolute best. ’
At the minute it’s uncertain why Smith has made this decision to resign or who’ll replace him. He has been working the mic for Bellator for nine years alongside new partner in crime Mike Goldberg and longtime friend and MMA legend Mauro Ranallo. Per sources It’s expected that Chael Sonnen and Frank Mir will rotate roles as commentators but nothings set in stone yet.
Bellator went on the record and stated ‘Jimmy is one of the finest combat sports announcers of our time. He has played an integral role in the growth of Bellator as it has evolved into the successful global franchise it is today.’
